WHEN YOU'RE LOST AND KNOW IT
by Mike Fortune

  1. But can't find your way home (Luke 15:1-4; Isaiah 53:6)
  2. Jesus finds you (Luke 15:5; Genesis 3:9)
  3. And carries you home rejoicing (Luke 15:6-7; John 20:21; Isaiah 40:10-11; Psalm 28:8-9)
Luke 15:1-4
1 Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. 2 This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people—even eating with them! 3 So Jesus told them this story: 4 "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?

Isaiah 53:6 (Scripture Reading)
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all.

Luke 15:5
5 And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders.

Genesis 3:9
9 Then the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"

Romans  5:6 (NKJV)
6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Luke 15:6-7
6 When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.' 7 In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!

John 20:21
As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.

Isaiah 40:10-11
10 Yes, the Sovereign LORD is coming in power. He will rule with a powerful arm. See, he brings his reward with him as he comes. 11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

Psalm 28:8-9
8 The LORD gives his people strength...9 Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever.
